The Group of stellar pulsations and asteroseismology of Department of Astronomy at Beijing Normal University of China (https://astero.bnu.edu.cn/english/) is offering one or two postdoctoral position(s) in stellar physics and asteroseismology. As the group is leading the time-domain medium-resolution spectroscopic survey and the low-resolution survey of LAMOST for Kepler and K2 fields, the focus of the work will be on the analysis of spaceborne photometry and LAMOST spectroscopy, with a particular emphasis on compact pulsators (pulsating white dwarfs, sdBV, etc.), δ Scuti, RR Lyrae and Cepheid stars, but with also a wider context of other types of pulsating stars as well as binaries. There is also opportunity to work with the upcoming data from the China space-based missions.
The postdoctoral position(s) will start as soon as possible after November 1, 2022. The duration of the fellowship is up to two years, with an extension of another two years depending upon satisfactory performance and availability of funds.
We welcome applications from all qualified candidates. We aim to ensure that our culture and systems support flexible and family-friendly working. For international applicants, advice on visa options is available from the group members.
